Octopussy

Open letter to the porn industry:

No.

Workout Wear

1.) I have new found new gym motivation. By the end of the summer my goal is to be able to wear short workout shorts without my thighs looking like a sausage coming out of its casing (there's imagery for you).
2.) Women...please do not wear tight light gray pants if you are an upper butt/lower back sweater. Not a good look.

Tweens Are Funny

Tonight at Target a "tween" (are 12 years olds still called this?) in line in front of me said to her fellow tween:

Tween #1: Oh it pains me to say this
Tween #2: What?
Tween #1: I can't say it
Tween #2: Can you whisper?
Tween #1: It if pains me to say it then imagine how much it would hurt for me to whisper it...gahhhh.

They were so dramatic. It just cracked me up.

Back In The Game

I am back on facebook. I have had several people ask me why I left and telling me to get back on, so I finally gave in. Hopefully it won't be as addictive this go round!

Am I Ready?

Puppies are hard yall. By NO means am I complaining, but lil' Tangie is consuming 95% of my time when I am at home. I can only imagine the kind of time a child would consume. I long for a family of my own but I often wonder if I am ready. It might sound cliché, but I really think this puppy is helping me prepare (by adjusting my sleep schedule and day shedule, etc). On a side note, Todd and Lucy are really warming up to her. They are playing and being civil. Lucy is instigating chases around the breakfast table and Todd isn't snapping at her anymore. Also amazingly, Tangie has not had an accident in the house yet. She is going outside like a pro. I know, babies can't go out in the yard and poop, and I do truely know that comparing a puppy to a baby is hog wash, but it's all I know so far.

Tangie

We are plus one today. Plus one more Pomeranian. Her name is Tangie and she is just shy of 2 lbs. and is 8 weeks old today. Todd and Lucy are getting used to her. Todd is acclimating a little better than I thought and Lucy is actually not. Todd did snap at her, it scared her and made her cry. But that is all he has done, much better than when we brought Lucy home 3 years ago. Lucy has wanted nothing to do with her and has barked at her a lot. She bonded with us really quick, especially with Frank.

More Trinny & Susannah Greatness

I really hope a new episode of Making Over America with Trinny and Susannah comes on soon. So far, it's been 2 weeks and only 1 episode has aired. While looking for more showtimes online, I found they have their own website with a lot of fun tips and useful information. You can check it out here!

Great Google-y, I Can See The Ocean!

If you haven't heard, Google Earth now gives us the ability to see the Ocean. It's actually pretty involved. You can view shipwrecks, track animals, see marine reserves, and a lot more. I am loving this. My inner-biologist is very happy. I may not scuba dive anymore, and I never persued marine biology, but it will always be near and dear to my heart. You can download it for free by clicking here!

Shiner Bock Chili

About once a year I make Shiner Bock Chili. It is usually Super Bowl weekend, although I don't make it for the super bowl, it's just a reminder that it's time to make chili. I add the Shiner Bock at the end and it gives it great flavor. Here is the recipe:

Ingredients
1 lb lean ground beef
1 (1 1/4 ounce) packet chili seasoning mix
1 (16 ounce) can dark red kidney beans
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes or tomato sauce
1 bottle of Shiner Bock beer
Chopped red onion
Shredded cheddar cheese
Sour cream
Tortilla chips

Directions
- In a large sauce pan, brown meat until cooked through, drain any fat.
- Add chili seasoning, beans and tomatoes to pan.
- Stir to combine ingredients thoroughly.
- Add beer
- Simmer until hot, about 15 minutes.

Top with onion, cheese, and sour cream and serve with chips.
