Let Me Tells Yous Sump'n

I love the Real Housewives on Bravo and this past week, they debuted the Real Housewives of New Jersey. Yep. It was trash-tastic! I watched it tonight and it was good. I am not a huge fan of the housewives of NYC, and I never saw the Atlanta crew. I will always be partial to the OC...and now NJ had me at hello. I grew up with my Mom watching soaps and I never got into them, but this, I like.

Interesting Case Heading To The Supreme Court

Lou Dobbs on CNN reported tonight that there is a case of reverse discremination heading to the supreme court. White and Latino firefighters in Connecticut claim they were denied promotions because of their race. The men had high scores on the city’s promotion test. The city threw out the test results because Black candidates didn’t score high enough to qualify for promotion. Click here to read the transcript from the show.

Interesting Video from The Kudlow Reoprt

I happend to catch The Kudlow Report on TV while at the gym. I don't usually watch these shows because I do not like politics or stocks, but I found this interesting.

Here are a few highlights from the video:

~Since Obama took office, the DOW has fallen by 20%
~Since Obama took office, the S&P 500 has fallen by 19%
~Since Obama took office, financial stocks have declined by 37%

Analyst are also saying this recession could last up to 36 months.

This Is How Government Is Spending The Stimulus Money

It was reported today that part of the stimulus package is going towards television converter boxes. The agency that mails out the $40 coupons ran out of money. So guess what? The President approved part of the stimulus package be allocated towards MORE free television converter boxes. Seriously? Whatever happened to "While Supplies Last"? There is so much more this money can go towards. It should not be the Government's responsibility to make sure that Edna in Gerty, OK can watch "The Wheel" on her 20 year old TV with bunny ear antennas wrapped in tin foil.

More Trinny & Susannah Greatness

I really hope a new episode of Making Over America with Trinny and Susannah comes on soon. So far, it's been 2 weeks and only 1 episode has aired. While looking for more showtimes online, I found they have their own website with a lot of fun tips and useful information. You can check it out here!

Making Over America with Trinny & Susannah

I am a sucker for make-over shows. It's probably my favorite thing to watch. Last night I discovered a new show on TLC called Making Over America with Trinny & Susannah. It's Ab Fab meets What Not To Wear. These ladies are just as hilarious and out there as Patsy and Edina (minus the booze and cigarettes). Actually it's the original What Not To Wear. If you are like me and love make-over shows and British icons adored by gay men around the world, then this is a must see.

This Is Why I Love The Soup

I have never heard of this show, but this clip was hilarious to me.

American Idol High Five

This is so funny to me for some reason. Ryan Seacrest must have felt like a tool. Ha! Actually it's funny to me because I had a similar thing happen to me this past weekend. I was shopping and this guy working there was talking to me...but I had no idea. He had a crazy eye and he kept calling me and trying to get my attention and I kept just staring off into space thinking he was talking to someone else. I was so embarrassed.

Sharkwater

If you know me, then you know I love sharks. I have been fixated on them since 2nd grade when I checked a book out from the library about them and saw my first shark nature program on PBS. I don't scuba dive - I've tried, but too scared and not good at it. Also, as much as I love sharks, I wouldn't want to come face to face with one. I do know they are more scared of us than we are of them and the probability of being attacked is next to nothing. But I digress...

Last night I watched a new documentary called Sharkwater. It was very good, but very sad. I was actually crying by the end of it. The purpose of this movie was to bring attention to the soon to be extinct fish that have been around since the beginning of time. Sharks have survived multiple extinctions, but not for much longer if we don't do anything about it. The show focused on fisherman hunting sharks for their fins to sell. Shark fin soup is considered a luxury item and measure of status and wealth in China and other Asian countries. There is so much money in fins that only trafficking drugs rivals fins for profit. Sharks are vital to our existence on earth as human beings and without them, our oceans will die.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck

I was thinking back on the past year and all the fights that have been brought to the forefront on The View. I actually feel bad for Elizabeth Hasselbeck. Poor girl tries to speak her mind and voice her opinion, but she gets viciously shut down by the other women on the show. Everyone is entiled to their opinion and just because she is the only right wing person on the show doesn't mean she doesn't deserve respect. I know the other women feel strongly about their opinions, but how is that different from EH feeling strongly about hers? Is it ok for the other women to gang up on her and make it seem like she is 100% wrong for speaking her mind? They don't have to agree with her, but to bully her like they do is wrong. I know a lot of you reading this might not agree with my "view" about this, and that's ok with me. This was just on my mind and I felt like speaking my opinion. This is also why I hate politics. It can get so heated and personal.

Tim Gunn's Guide to Style

I posted some time ago about how much I heart Tim Gunn. Well, I am watching season 2of his show Tim Gunn's Guide to Style. I can't get enough! I am not sure what it is, but I love watching people get makeovers. I honestly could watch people get them all day. I know, I am a strange bird.

If you haven't seen Tim Gunn's Guide to Style, he has a list of 10 essential wardrobe items every woman must have. Tim says that a woman’s closet needs only to consist of these 10 essential items, but he doesn't expect every woman to ONLY have 10 items...I mean, hello!

Tim's Essentials List

-Basic black dress
-Trench coat
-Classic dress pants
-Skirt
-Blazer
-Classic white shirt
-Day dress
-Cashmere sweater
-Jeans
-Sweatsuit alternative
-One indulgent trend item. "Indulge occasionally in a $20 something or other."

Project Runway Finale - SPOILER!

So...tonight was the finale of Project Runway. I thought all 3 had some great pieces. I had at favorites out of each bunch...but after seeing Korto's line, I was 100% on her team. Her designs were beautiful in my opinion.

So let's break it down. Kinley - her black dress with the high collar was gorge, Leanne had very interesting detail in her "pleats". Her pant suit was brillz. Korto...what can I say. I loved each and every piece she showed.

The order of I would have chosen would have been:
3. Leanne
2. Kinley
1. Korto

BUT...we must move 3 to 1 and Leanne won.

Spot On!

Tina Fey was spot on with her Sarah Palin last night. In case you missed it, here it is.

(oh, and did anyone notice how pregnant Amy Poehler is looking?)
